Robyn Knox, Vice President of Human Resources here at Southern Weaving, LLC, was recognized as the statewide winner of the 2017 Human Resources (HR) Professional of the Year Award! The winner was announced at the 27th Annual HR Conference Awards Luncheon in Hilton Head, hosted by the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the South Carolina State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
Requirements for HR Professionals of Excellence
The HR Professional of the Year award is sponsored by Fisher Phillips. In order to be selected as a finalist, HR professionals throughout the state must meet the following requirements:
- 10 consecutive years of experience in HR management
- Actively employed
- Takes a creative approach to human resources solutions
- Holds notable accomplishments in both their employer’s human resources department and the wider community
Highlights from Knox’s Career at Southern Weaving, LLC
Knox has been our Vice President of Human Resources since 2007. During her nine-year tenure, she has successfully led the department, from recruiting and retention to defining the benefits and compensation strategy.
Knox also created and implemented a comprehensive wellness program for Southern Weaving, LLC, which has earned several awards, including the statewide Blue Cross Blue Shield LiveLifeBlue Award in 2017.

Knox received her initial HR certification in 2002 through the HR Certification Institute, and she was one of the first HR professionals to later earn the designation of Senior Certified Professional through SHRM. Knox currently serves as the Workforce Readiness Director for the SC SHRM State Council and Board Member for the Greenville Society for Human Resource Management, Greenville County Workforce Development Board, and the Greenville Regional Education Center Advisory Board.
